But it's certainly true that the show is about nothing. In the first season they touched on gun control, abortion, racism, homosexuality, cancer, underage drinking, and molestation - and they managed to do it without taking a clear stance, just being asinine and hilarious the whole time. I believe every moronic and near insane moment in this show is crafted that way on purpose. It's our generation's version of Seinfeld. I believe that show had the mantra "no hugging, no learning" and I think it's clear that Always Sunny follows the same. It is our show about nothing, and it's brilliant in that regard. The 1776 episode was the first episode of the season I thought wasn't that great. It was still good, but it didn't hit me with hilarity like I was hoping.
