it’s not looking good

The Braves are in a serious rut. They’ve now lost five straight games, bringing their record to 9 and 14 and putting them seven games out of first place in their division. However, most of the other teams in their division (except the Mets) have done poorly too, and they’re in second place with that losing record. But finally their pitching has gotten it together, and now they can’t hit. They began the year on a record-setting pace for scoring runs, and now they can’t buy a run. Andruw Jones hasn’t homered in…forever, Giles is batting .200, and Francoeur is batting below .200. They’ll need to pull things together and stay in the race because the season’s just getting underway. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays have a better record than the Braves. :(
There’s only a game’s difference between the Red Sox, Yankees, and Toronto Blue Jays. I think if the Blue Jays come out on top, there’ll be mass suicides in the northeast.
